SD 10/02/04 - "Do you Believe in Magic? #5" aka "Misfortune Teller" It looks like we've done all we can here. Well, there's still that crazy computer.

With only vauge clues to M'Rander & Dammers' whereabouts, we were about to go when the seer offered to tell us hints of our future, for a small fee. Considering how this place works, I went along. I suppose some would have dismissed it, but this place works by it's own set of rules. Supposedly even Spock was practicing magic in the first visit here.

Our, fortunes, were about as vauge as the previous clues, but most suggested trouble, at least to the recipients. Mine was the rear end of an iron statue, an "iron bottom." If this is true, looks like I may have some trouble with the big boss ahead.

Lera's fortune was a knife and fork. That got her shocked and upset, fearing something was soon going to eat her. *sigh* Her and her paranoid delusions. It probably means something eventful happens at dinner, or she gets invited to a grand dinner.

With Orlan, the seer saw a vision of a full moon. That could have meant a lot of things, but Orlan was pessimistic, "Oh great, I'm gonna become a werewolf."

Cosmos Ennin had a rather curious vision, of him opening a "coffin ... colder than cold." By her descriptions, it sounded like opening a cryo chamber. Does this relate to the vision we saw of M'Rander in a cryo chamber? Maybe things aren't so bleak for her after all.

As we were discussing Ennin's clue, Lynx & Tarra came in. They did not look very happy, suggesting something went badly with Lucin, "Don't mention that jerk!" "Lucin who?" When asked if she wanted her fortune, she asked the seer, "Yes, can you tell me when all men will be ground under the rightful boot of a feminine heel?" Ouch! Maybe it's best that I don't know what happened. Orlan had a few comments, which drew glares and irritable comments from the girls. With him junked into an avian form and the girls felinoids, KFC jokes anyone?

So the "sisters" got their fortunes. The seer saw two visions connected with Lynx, the "iron bottom" she saw with me, and Lera. Tarra had a happier vision, an image of babies looking much like her and Lynx. That switched Lynx's mood 180, jumping at Orlan not to smack him, but hugged him crying.

As Tarra put it, "Maybe there are some happy endings after all."

Well, time to head back. I wonder what progress Lott has made with that "apprentice exorcist?"
