SD 2-24-01 "GIECO, not Gecko" #1 - Shoreleave was pretty nice, but it's back to business. We have ourselves another mission: to protect a threatened station, which was being menaced by a hostile force. The Captian wondered if considering our reputation, this serious a mission was meant for the Olympus. But it was not. Our initial reports of details show a rather typical mission. Our first lead was a garbled message which was cleaned up to read "We are GIECO, not Gecko." Then reports came from bases from all over of all the comms incessently ringing, "Die Federation scum! We are Geico, not gecko! You cannot avoid our sales pitch forever! ... Stop sending us lizard chow or we will destroy all your comms by overloading you with junk calls"
Then we got a report from the base we were heading: all their entertainment stations were now playing nothing but infomercials. I wondered if the Ferrengi are somehow behind this, and we are looking into something that could connect them to this 'GIECO.'
