Lieutenant Commander Lera t'Resan
Don't get me wrong, I like her, a lot. She's smart, fun-loving, ... and has feelings toward me.
The Freedom's already got a reputation as a "weirdness magnet." Now, I can see the "Love Boat" jokes coming.
Lera still keeps her position as Science Officer. This is not without precident, as evident by the first Enterprise's famous First Officer, but the two being of similar races and opposite in almost everything else ... that's bound make the jokes worse.
I do like her a lot, and she deserves the position. I just wonder if I can take the barrage of jokes that will inevitably come.
Also, we need the Tactical position taken. I've decided to give Shorte Phiuse the job, and let his old assistant take care of security. Unfortunetly, a very bad joke of his, "You realize I'm honor-bound to kill you now" was taken by our counselor as a literal threat, and she knocked him out as he was going through the door to my office. Just as I was dealing with this, screams were reported coming from her quarters.
