SD 9-28-02 - "Back at the Starbase Again" - Back at the Starbase.
The ban on non-emergency transports is still in effect, but at least we can dock now. The Ferrengi ship, however, is to be in orbit until further notice. I've given the crew general shoreleave for 24 hours, which means they can go to the Starbase when off their shifts. For me, however, I have to face Ironbottom. He wanted to talk, in private, on the starbase.
Admiral Ironbottom has been less than cordial to the Freedom ever since I assumed command and he assumed duties in this sector. His attitude has seemlingly gotten worse over time. Just why he's been on my case so much I only have a few clues. He has had some harsh words about Admiral Dude, whom has thankfully helped my predecessor in times of need, but has been even more critical of Captian Treki, particuarly after her disapperance. He had a role in her search being declared over, but subsequently requested the ship be taken out of service and the entire crew given performance reviews, and those who passed distributed throught Starfleet. As he didn't succeed with that, he's gotten more and more hostile, taking advantage over every incident in order to slam us and derride "that Klingon's corrupting influence." It turned out K'Lynxyl being sent here was in part due to him when the "Charteause Incident" got the attention of a few other Admirals, and they agreed to send an inspector.
What happens next, I don't know. Will her rescue mean her report is now null and void?
In the meantime, I overheard something about a new exhibit at the Starbase zoo, "Mungian Phirana Rats." I hope Tempres with his hamster phobia doesn't go there.
