SD 01-25-03 - "A Fishy Funeral" aka "Welcome to our Planet - Now Go Home!" #3 - Looks like everyone's finally together. Problem is, the 'final respects' hit a snag. Not to mention this headache of mine is making me dizzy.

K'Lynxyl, Brundle, and Tempres finally arrived. She was breastfeeding one of the engineer's kids as she got off, something I had seen her do on occasion. Not sure what could have triggered her to start producing milk again ... some physiological reaction to Azzura's disapperance and her kids being around without a mother? If nothing else, it does show how far she'll go to take care of a friend's children.

Brundle gave the "NO FISHING" and other signs the same reactions as some of my group. K'lynxyl just jotted down notes in her datapad as if filling out a list of complaints. There was one policeman on the docks, who was not happy to see us ... darn locals and their viewpoints of Starfleet. Their uniforms remind me of those from some late 20th Century movie, "Spaceballs" I think it was. Demian made one no-so-smart remark, but K'Lynxyl intervened before he could do anything.

We got to the end of the peir, and several of us gave our final respects. Brundle, Lott, and K'Lynxyl had some final thoughts. Tempres, however, showed a remarkable lack of tact. Then came time for the final act. It seemed rather quaint when I first noticed the "flying fishes," fish with long fins that enable them to glide long distances out of the water. It seemed like nature herself was giving a final tribute. But when I was about to scatter the ashes, one of the fish smacked the urn out of my hand, causing it to fall to the peir and shatter. The fish fell back into the water. The ashes were blown into the sea by the wind, that was no problem. Unfortunetly, the policeman saw what happened, stormed over, and promptly gave me a ticket for "littering and harrassing aquatic wildlife!" And the fine ... that would take me years to pay! Then K'Lynxyl stepped in, and offered the guy some Latinum to get rid of the ticket. It worked.

Then the hit on the head I got earlier took that moment to manifest itself and I fainted. One moment, I thought I was being kissed by some girl that I had feelings of love and familiarity for, then the next I opened by eyes and there was K'Lynxyl looking at me oddly.

Now to get out of here before something else happens, though with K'lynxyl's growling stomach, she may insist we stop somewhere. I just hope the cooking in this place hasn't suffered the same decline as everything else has ...
