SD 10/04/03 - "Ritt's Return" This is bad.
To begin with, the planet below was not uninhabited. I've hardly had time to listen to reports, but it seems the Zenth-Trad is now in the hands of intelegent rodents! These "Cidi" had been rebuilding the craft as they studied it, and applied it's technology with their own.
Unfotrunetly, the reason why I've barely had time materiaized not even before M'Rander and I left the turbolift. We got a call that a ship, Klingon design but with Kzin insigna, had decloaked, and was hailing us. It was Maarcuz Riit. There certainly didn't seem to be any love lost between them. Told to leave immedietly, he cooly replied what he wanted was on the surface below, and asked about Tarra. Didn't sound good. Then Lera commed me, and I told her about our uninvited guest.
Then Ritt dropped his shields in spite of M'Rander's orders not to do so, "no transporters." Then the firefight began. The first enemy ship was crippled after a volley, but two more ships decloaked between us and the planet, and sensors detected Kzin ground forces on the planet near the Zenth-Trad, and we were now detecting local forces, some similar to circia 2000 Earth technology, but much of it was roughly equal to our own and the Kzin. But they were pint-sized, the vehicles no bigger than a humanoid. Only the latter could put up much of a fight.
I didn't see very much of the fight on the bridge. M'Rander asked me to get Tarra. So I called Security and asked two to meet me at her holodeck with a sedative. I didn't think I would need it as I thought she could reason through her "condition" momentarily. I was mistaken. As soon as the program and net were gone, she immediately pounced me ala Lera. Being much bigger than Lera, only the tranquilizer hypo prevented an embarrasing situation. The three of us got her clothes on. Cosmo Ennin was also there, despite his confinment to a wheelchair. He had her beamed to sickbay, and headed over himself.
Then there was a sudden lurch, like we'd been hit. I found out from the computer sickbay had been beamed away! Tarra and Cosmo were taken with it. Stunned, I headed to the transporter room to see whom I thought had been part of an emergency beam-up. Before I could get there, this holo-thingy appeared an kept bugging me. I think Brundle had a hand in that annoyance as he commed me to "expect a guest," but at the time I was too preoccupied to pay attention until I finally lost my temper with it, after which it soon disappeared after I looked away again.
I got to the pad just as Dammers was dropping to his knees, in tears, mumbling "They took her." Lynx was gone as well.
On my way to the Bridge with Melvin Orlan and Brundle. About Brundle, it is utterly amazing how self-centered he can be. We've lost three officers, and all he cares about is his damn glider! I am begining to wonder if he truly learned anything from his mutiny and the abduction by that "MiB." He did make a half-hearted offer to help, but by heading over with his glider!
Lynx, Tarra ... is Ritt really going to breed each "like a horse," that desperate for his Kzinerete program. Brundle better be careful what he wishes for. I may be so MAD at the moment, I may just let him make his suicide mission.
