SD 11/01/03 - "Foils! Cursed Again" Just when I thought I had seen it all ...
Lera and I were walking along the beach. She wanted to chat, but I was distracted. Maybe it was that she insisted on going topless, or maybe it was that sense of impending doom I was feeling.
I was thinking it was just jitters, then Lera was saying she was hearing drums. I heard nothing, then noticed her legs had a little stubble. I thought she had forgotten to shave them, but then noticed she was getting fuzzy all over! Also, her already pointy ears were getting longer, and she was shrinking. Panicked, she grabbed my hand and wanted to find the shaman. But before we could go far, she had changed completely into a red rabbit!
Horrified, I could only pick her and beam to sickbay, but once there found our troubles had only begun ...
The first person I saw there was a Sivoan lady (same race as Cosmo), but talked to me in Kura's voice! The shy Ensign Scyarin had been turned into a girl! He had also heard drums before he changed. Then Lott staggered in with some nasty-looking cuts. He claimed to have been attacked by a monster hamster! Had Demian been changed as well? That whatever could affect mind as well as body was apparent as Lynx bolted into the room, acting like her wild evolutionary ancestors. Tarra rushed into the room saying Lynx had gone "ferral." She was indeed acting much like a subsentient common Kzinerette. Then I saw a male Kzin enter the room - Dammers! He too had been changed.
Before I could say anything about Dammers, Lynx pounced and sank her teeth into Lera, and ran off. I tried to grab Lynx, but got only her tail. Kzin Dammers and I went after her. When we finally caught up to her, Bunny Lera landed in Lynx's room, and then the twins went after her. They caught her, but fortunetly Lera was still able to speak. Her talking threw them off, thinking she was some cartoon character, which allowed me to safely take Bunny Lera back to sickbay.
Unfortunetly, the nightmare was still continuing. Tarra had turned into a female Ferrengi - a bitter transformation, considering her first couple years after her long stay in cryo as a slave to one. Melvin Orlan had changed too, into a larger human resembling the football players of the alternate Earth he was stranded on, seemed about as dull-witted as one too. Lott, now unconscious, had changed into a Klingon. (S)he must have fainted from the shock, the pacifist (s)he is.
It's a nightmare! Everyone is changing around me! I ...
Oh no! Now I'm hearing the drums, the chants ... No! NOOOOOOOOoooooooo......
