SD 1-13-01 Trouble in Paradise #2 - Captian Treki's rather visial dsiplay of her phaser seems to have made this group of natives more willing to negotiate. However, the drums beating clearly show other natives. And from what the chief here says, armed with more than spears.

After Treki fired into the air, scaring the once-hostile native band into submission, I reassured them as long as they didn't act hostile they would be okay. Starting with the chief, they then rose to their feet. Ael wondered if Tellar and the Priestess should be called down for another demonstration, but Treki thought enough had been done. The chief naturally had some questions, where were we from and why was Lera naked. Treki joked that she was a servant of the "Goddess of Censorship."

The chief apologized for his actions, saying that most outsiders to his land were hostile. We then heard some drums in the distance. The chief said those were the war drums of the "Evil Ones," a tribe that came here and stayed, "they attack our hunting parties and steal our food, kill our men, and once in a while, attack and take some women." When Treki suggested mollifiying them with beer, the chief said they tried appeasing them but to no avail. Then the kicker - the chief said the "Evil Ones" had a couple weapons "much like yours" - phasers!

Oh, joy.
