SD 1-26-02 - "The Inspector" #2 - It seems all of our odd adventures have finally attracted Starfleet's attention.
As Lera and I were heading out onto the starbase, I recieved a call to meet someone in the Officers' Lounge, sent by Starfleet. Lera felt this person should be ignored, but after the "charteause ship incident," I didn't want any more misunderstandings. She left, irritated, and the person called just afterwards, calling herself K'Lynxyl. She wanted me to bring a second officer with me. As Lera was in a bad mood and her name sounded Caitian (and I thought I heard a purr-like undertone), so I called R'merr over.
R'Merr got to the Officer's Lounge the same time I did, but hardly the way I imagined it. He had been chasing some other Caitian guy, with Tempres' help. and the pursed ran into the lounge door, knocking it down. K'Lynxyl couldn't believe it, surprised this kind of conduct could come from Starfleet officers. Tempres left, and K'Lynxyl and I talked while the Caitian males just stared at the girl. She gave me a datapad with her assignment. She's to be both a civilian inspector on Starfleet's behalf, and a temporary nurse as Halfpipe never returned from her leave and we've been using the EMH.
The other Caitian male finally spoke up, adressing himself as S'Varr. K'Lynxyl seemed to like him right away. This wasn't the case with R'Merr, whom she thought was boyish. There did seem to be some kind of rivalry between R'Merr and S'Varr, and K'Lynxyl's presence agrivated it. Then Lera showed up after all, and she and K'Lynxyl got along right away.
R'Merr doesn't look too happy, and I can't blame him. Finaly a girl he can date without looking odd, and some other guy sweeps her right up. Oh well, he'll feel better once we're underway. S'Varr is a civillian, with no reason to be on a Starfleet vessel, so he'll get another chance at K'Lynxyl.
